TDS Racing announces changes for next FIA WEC season

French team TDS Racing confirmed its commitment to the FIA WEC Super Season in 2018/2019, but will face a slight change in the lineup as Frenchman Loïc Duval was brought in as the third driver of the Oreca 07 LMP2 machine.

The addition of the FIA WEC champion and Audi factory driver comes at the expense of Emmanuel Collard as TDS Racing considered a return to GT racing or a ELMS move, but Xavier Combet made the decision with François Perrodo, one of the drivers of the prototype, with Perrodo stating that his enjoyment behind the wheel of an LMP car being a factor in the choice. Duval and Perrodo will be with Mathieu Vaxiviere in the lineup, with the latter two being part of the 2017 campaign which gave them a podium at Silverstone.

Duval spent the 2017 season between Formula E and DTM with a participation at the 6 Hours of Bahrain with G-Drive Racing, which was ran by TDS Racing. Outside this entry in FIA WEC, Duval barely had impressive results, with a second place in DTM and a top-5 in Formula E, and with Formula E out of the plans and a DTM campaign awaiting confirmation, Duval’s season may turn totally to sportscar racing again as the FIA WEC campaign will be along with a participation with CORE Autosport in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

The TDS run G-Drive entry awaits confirmation as to where the Russian banner will go, with ELMS being an option as well as the team that will operate the entry.
