R-Motorsport announces Blancpain GT effort for 2018

The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 did a successful Blancpain GT season in the Pro-Am class of the Endurance Cup with Oman Racing, and for 2018 we may see the British V12 monster join the Pro ranks with a new entry, courtesy of Swiss outfit R-Motorsport.

R-Motorsport is nothing more than the motorsport arm of AF Racing, the exclusive Aston Martin distributor for Switzerland and region, and its recent exploits in motor racing are related to the Vantage GT4 car, as the representative of Aston Martin St. Gallen is a sure contender of the Bathurst 12 Hours, for example. But the Swiss team is joining the campaign alone, as the effort for the 2018 Blancpain GT Endurance Cup will be made in partnership with Arden Motorsport, as the well recognized single seater outfit extends the sportscar world links after establishing itself with JOTA Sport and DC Racing.

This link with Arden Motorsport is what granted to R-Motorsport the lineup that will race the Vantage GT3, as Alex Brundle and Jake Dennis were announced. Brundle is practically a prototype guy, as there are only a few GT races in his resume, while Dennis comes fresh off a full Blancpain GT campaign with Team WRT in what was being a transitional year for the Brit, switching from single seaters to sportcars as part of a big wave of drivers that keeps growing year by year.

The 2018 Blancpain GT Endurance Cup starts only on April 22nd at Monza, Italy, and it will mark the first Pro entry since Oman Racing in 2015, of course, if it stays so.
