MetalMoro AJR absent of the 12 Hours of Tarumã

The hype around the MetalMoro AJR is real after what the new Brazilian prototype presented during the final round of the Dopamina Endurance Series at Tarumã, with a record-breaking pole position and an unquestionable win, and also with the inclusion of the car into REIZA Studios’ Automobilista lineup for the sim racing lovers. It was expected a return to compete at the 12 Hours of Tarumã this month, but JLM Racing won’t join the grid this year.

The reasons behind choosing to be absent of the most famous race down south in Brazil are related to customer racing, as the MetalMoro AJR is intended to follow the path of the MR18 and MRX and attract customer teams to race with it, and with the work to get the cars ready for the 2018 season being too much, it was acceptable to stay out of the 12 Hours. To give an idea on how is the customer racing scenario for the AJR, some drivers like Ricardo Maurício already tested the car, and Emilio Padron, normally seen in the No. 117 SPMec MR18, was part of the JLM Racing winning trio during the Dopamina Endurance season finale.

The news of the absence of the AJR hit the fans with a hard blow, as the 57.386 lap left a sensation that there could be more to achieve with the car, even though the lap time already raised some eyebrows at site. The 12 Hours of Tarumã will be held on December 17th, and with absences here and there, another revolutionary machine in form of the Sigma P1 from Sigma Kart will finally make its racing debut, exactly a year after being shown as a concept during the 2016 edition of the race.
