World RX releases 2018 calendar

We still have to see the end of the 2017 season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship but we already know where to go as the calendar for the next season was already released, keeping the same number of events but some changes.

The major changes in the 2018 schedule are already known of the public as the American round at the Circuit of the Americas comes to substitute the Hockenheim round, and the British round sees Lydden Hill say goodbye to be replaced by Silverstone, with the rest being little date tweaks due to the venue changes.

The early April start at Barcelona gives place to a mid-April event on the 15th, which brings no changes to the following dates, as the World RX visits Montalegre on April 29th, Mettet on May 13th, Silverstone on May 27th, Hell on June 10th, Höljes on July 1st, Trois Rivières on August 5th, Lohéac on September 2nd and Riga on September 16th.

Austin joins the calendar on September 30th, so the Estering date is moved to October 14th. In order to keep the one month gap between Estering and Cape Town, the South African round moves to late November, with the season finishing on the 25th.

The calendar still needs to be approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council in December to be confirmed.
