GT3 Power Pack DLC released for rFactor 2

The boom that the GT3 class had during the last few years made impossible for the top simulators to avoid it, but rFactor 2 was in the list of outsiders with the outdated lone runner SaReNi Camaro GT3, at least until now as the GT3 Power Pack released five models to the Studio 397 title.

There was already one model available as the McLaren 650S GT3 was the base car for the McLaren’s World Fastest Gamer online competition, now coming with the liveries used in WFG. The list is then followed by two other popular models as the Mercedes AMG GT3 and the Bentley Continental GT3, completing the list of Blancpain GT champions present in the DLC.

Then the last two cars have more national recognition, as the Radical RXC Turbo GT3 runs with a national homologation and was seen only in the International GT Open championship based in Spain, and the Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R officially makes its way into sim racing for the first time after various requests from the community, as only the road and LMGTE versions were receiving attention.

Curiously this comes after two big achievements for Callaway Cars, the company that builds the C7 GT3-R, being them the ADAC GT Masters title and the approval by GM to be commercialized and raced in the United States after the end of the Cadillac GT3 program.

You can get the GT3 Power Pack cars individually or in a single transaction, with the pack option being cheaper per car, and if you’re skilled with painting the templates are already available in a folder into rFactor 2’s main directory.

Along with the new DLC, rFactor 2 has an update which brought the version 1.109 for both the DX9 and the beta DX11 builds, with changes in the visual of the models being the highlight, as it’s explained below, according to Studio 397:

· Added: An extended visual damage model featuring a combination of dents, scratches and cracks on the bodywork of cars, which has been implemented on the GT3 pack.
· Added: New window and headlight glass shader that produces more realistic reflections. All five GT3 cars use it.
· Added: Controller Profiles for Thrustmaster T-GT, T-GT Ferrari F1 Addon, TS-XW, TS-XW with Ferrari F1 Addon.
· Added: Updates to the CPM model.
· Fixed: Various small fixes to the no rain zone code that prevents rain from entering closed cockpits.
· Fixed: All controller profiles default inputs are now assigned to JOY1.
· Fixed: Bumped the rFactor 2 version for multiplayer compatibility to 1109 because of the new visual dents that required changes to the multiplayer protocol.
