RX Team Hungary puts Kia Rio in full time World RX campaign

The increasing presence of manufacturer isn't keeping the privateer entries away from the FIA World Rallycross Championship, and thanks to this we will see another new squad this season, being this the RX Team Hungary, a partnership between Italy and Hungary.

The drivers for the new outfit were previously in charge of their own entries, be it in World RX or in the Euro RX, as former WRC driver Gigi Galli joins Lukács “Csucsu” Kornél, also a driver with an extensive rally record who converted himself to rallycross. Galli also brings the car that the team will use this year, as a pair of Kia Rio RX will be the choice. While Csucsu is set to compete in the whole 2017 season, Galli will participate of selected events this year, probably starting his campaign only from the third round, at Hockenheim, Germany.

Csucsu competed in all rounds but one of the Euro RX in 2016, and was able to conquer a fourth place at Mettet as his best result in a Ford Focus. Galli started in World RX with Olsbergs MSE in 2014 before setting sights for his own entry in the Kia Rio RX, and entered three events so far since 2015, still trying to find a way past the qualifying heats.

At the moment the World RX grid is composed by 17 permanent entries confirmed plus three one-off entries, including the third EKS entry for Andrew Jordan.
