HTP
Motorsport became a very well known team in the currently active
GT3 championships thanks to the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, as the
German machine helped them to win the FIA GT3 European Championship,
Blancpain Sprint Series, the Spa 24 Hours and the Blancpain Endurance
Series. In 2015 they switched to Bentley but after one year
the partnership was over, and now HTP is highly tipped to return to
Mercedes machinery.
Not
that the 2015 season as Bentley Team HTP wasn't successful, as
they conquered the Blancpain Sprint Series title in the Pro Cup and
in the Silver Cup, but once the season and the contract with the
British manufacturer was over, with Team Parker Racing
becoming Bentley's main partner, HTP is without a car for 2016.
Discussions
are still being taken, but the best bet is a return to Mercedes in
the new AMG GT3 model, which already has a season of use.
Unfortunately for HTP, their main star driver, Maximilian Buhk,
got a factory contract with Bentley, só they will have to rely in
other options, such as the Silver Cup drivers of the GT team or the
open wheel drivers of the HTP Junior Team.
HTP
stated that the 2016 efforts will be based only in GT racing,
abandoning its junior formula team.
