MRS-GT will use a Nissan on Blancpain GT Series

Known for the extensive use of McLaren MP4-12Cs in their last years of GT3 competition, Molitor Racing Systems did some changes for 2015, as well an expansion of their program.

This year the Karsten Molitor-led team acquired two 2015-spec Nissan GT-R GT3 for use in the ADAC GT Masters, and a third Nissan for use in the Blancpain GT Series.

Is their first season doing the whole Blancpain GT calendar, but the team already has some experience in both the Sprint and Endurance Series, as they did four races in the 2013 BES season and the 2014 Baku World Challenge, season finale of BSS.

The confirmed drivers for their Blancpain GT Pro Cup effort are Craig Dolby and Sean Walkinshaw.

Dolby has lots of experience in GTs, LMPs and single seaters, and comes from a class win at the Jerez round of the International GT Open last year, in a Nissan GT-R ran by Nova Race.

Walkinshaw made his carreer only on open wheelers, but switched to sportscar racing recently, and he said he is really happy with the change. He already has some GT racing experience, as he finished 6th overall and third in the Pro-Am class of the Gulf 12 Hours last year, driving the Dragon Racing Ferrari 458 Italia GT3.

With MRS-GT entry, there’s already two Nissan GT-Rs in Blancpain Endurance Series’ Pro Cup, as the other entry is from the Nissan GT Academy Team RJN. At the moment, MRS-GT remains the sole Nissan machinery user in the Blancpain Sprint Series.
