Z4 will be out, M6 gets in

BMW announced this that the long-runned Z4 GT3 model will have a replacement in 2016, as the M6 model will take place on the track, following Lamborghini, McLaren and other brands that are announcing or even testing replacement models for 2015 and beyond.

There's no much information about specs of the M6 GT3, but it will feature the already used 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine as the Z4. Some concepts were released to the public, which resemble two past models of the bavarian manufacturer in one car: the Alpina B6 GT3 and the BMW M3 E92 GT2.

The first tests of the new model will start in 2015, with customers being available to cash in the M6 at the end of the next year.

And about a possible GTE version of the M6, BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquadt told to Sportscar365 that the M6 can replace the Z4 on the same platform, although there's no prediction of when the M6 GTE can become reality.
