SMP Racing to become championship promoter

When you think the guys of SMP Racing are satisfied with current projects, they appear with a new one. This time the plan is to develop more homegrown talents.

Boris Rotenberg's SMP Racing will be the promoter of the Russian F4 Championship , in a partnership with Russian Automobile Federation and Koiranen GP, that had young talents like Carlos Sainz Jr. and Kevin Korjus at its service. The F4 Championship is growing as another good step for young drivers coming from karting, and is expanding not only in Europe, but in other countries too.

This new project is only a small fraction of what SMP Racing does into motorsport world, as they own and support teams and drivers in a large number of categories, with the main highlights being IndyCar Schmidt Peterson's Mikhail Aleshin and F1 team Sauber's and 3.5-litre Formula Renault's driver Sergey Sirotkin, as well efforts in ELMS, FIA WEC, International GT Open, Blancpain Endurance Series and Formula Renault 2.0.

SMP Racing is intending to become a chassis constructor too, as their new LMP2 Coupé is under construction to hit the track in 2015.
