TUSCC is back to business

Okay, after two straight weekends staying woke up for 24 Hours(or even more), it's time to shorter distance events come back to track and to TV screens, one of them being the TUDOR United Sportscar Championship, back with all classes together in a 55-car field at the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen.

Time to put the Taylor brothers together again, to Richard Westbrook get back into a prototype seat, for Patrick Dempsey and Joe Foster downgrade to GTD machinery, after the ride on the GTE Porsche.

Interesting to see that the 2014 Sahlen's 6 Hours of the Glen is the first contact for LMP and GTE machinery guys to the Watkins Glen International Raceway, as the traditional american endurance classic was a monopolized Grand-Am event since 1996. And it will be based on this factor that I can see some good DP teams advantadge of this event, in special for the 2013 winners, the No. 5 Action Express Corvette DP, driven by Christian Fittipaldi and João Barbosa, with a help of Burt Frisselle. The mission at The Glen is to recover the lead lost at Detroit, now with the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP.

The LMP that may seem to ruin the DP festival at The Glen are the No. 2 Extreme Speed HPD and the No. 42 OAK Racing Morgan. The No. 2 had more consistency than the No. 1, as well a win in Laguna Seca, the only LMP win in the season. The No. 42 relies on the well-made car as well on the drivers to get a good result, and if Alex Brundle and Gustavo Yacaman don't do reckless moves they can be in the front pack. To add more spice to these teams, Anthony Lazzaro(ESM) and Ho-Pin Tung(OAK) were called to drive at The Glen.

This race will serve too as a real test of any enhancements made into the marshalling process, after controversal decisions being made in the first two NAEC rounds, in Daytona and Sebring. If IMSA crew handle things right with all 4 classes on track, as it was being with 2 classes in the past races, we can see some of the fans that roar against IMSA lowering their voices.
