The end of the line to Muscle Milk Pickett Racing

Really not good news this Sunday. After announcing here some months ago the closing of Pescarolo Team, another team ceases its operations.

After many years commited with north american sportscar racing, Muscle Milk Pickett Racing announced that it will close its doors.

The team owned by Greg Pickett was competing in the TUDOR United Sportscar Championship, with a Oreca 03-Nissan model in replace of the HPD ARX-03c due to the end of the LMP1 class participation in american endurance racing.

They ran the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, where they finished 5th overall and in the Prototype class, and in the 12 Hours of Sebring, where they didn't finished the race, and after that, they announced that will pull out from the races of Long Beach and Laguna Seca to focus on the car understanding and improvement, and even turned down to go to Le Mans 24 Hours, as Pickett Racing won the American Le Mans Series in 2013, with the reason being total focus on TUSC season.

On track since 2007, in American Le Mans Series used several types of chassis in its history, starting with Lola, and after running with Porsche, Aston Martin, HPD and Oreca, running in the LMP1, LMP2 and even LMPC class.

It was announced that they would feature a Nissan GT-R GTD in TUSC, something that never came to light. After the retirement from TUSC, was expected a return in 2015, even considering a trip to Le Mans.

There's no official statement yet about the matter, but the members of the team, specially the traditional team drivers Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr, already confirmed the news in social networks.

As a great memory, here's a video from Muscle Milk Pickett Racing featuring their first 2013 ALMS victory, in Long Beach, the first of the eight victories that led to to their last title. It's really something.
