Extreme Speed with the new HPD

And now, Honda joins the club of LMP manufacturers that has at least a client for their new project, and unsurprisingly, the team that acquired the new HPD ARX-04b is the one that has an actual commitment with the japanese manufacturer: Extreme Speed Motorsports. The Tequila Patrón-sponsored team secured two of the new LMP2 coupes to be delivered in 2015, or if you prefer, to the next TUDOR United Sportscar Championship season. And there's more: the program can involve even a 24 Hours of Le Mans attack(cross your fingers, dear readers).

At the moment the other coming LMP that has its clients is the Onroak Automotive-based Ligier JS P2, which has TDS Racing and 8Star Motorsports as clients, but the home team OAK Racing will hit the road with new prototype too.

The new HPD, developed in partnership with Wirth Ressearch, will utilize the same twin turbocharged V6 HR28TT engine that is equipped is the actually used ARX-03b, energy-efficient technology, quick change bodywork and a system to prevent fires when the fuel hose is released in pit-stop.

Maybe the program with Extreme Speed will open the way to other clients to buy the new HPD, but is almost impossible to see the latest ones buying it, as Strakka is now commited with Dome and at the moment Level 5 Motorsports will be still driving Ferraris.
