Photo(s) of the weekend

Yes, this time will not be only one. It would be really hard to choose only one photo to be here, so here are some images of the best that happened this weekend.

First one comes from Silverstone, UK. More specifically, from the podium of the opening round of the World Endurance Championship, where two of the three podium spots were japanese. The #8 Toyota TS040 fought against rain, Porsche and Audi and won the RAC Tourist Trophy with Anthony Davidson, Sebastien Buemi and Nicolas Lapierre at the wheel, and the #7 finished right behind, driven by Alex Wurz, Stephane Sarrazin and Kazuki Nakajima. Porsche achieved a 3rd place in their return to the LMPs, with the #20 car driven by Timo Berhard, Mark Webber and Brendon Hartley. Next round will be the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, on May 3rd.

Next one is from Norgaro, France, where 19 cars ran in the Qualifying Race of the Blancpain Sprint Series, the quick-racing championship that is part of the Blancpain GT Series, and was in 2013 the FIA GT Series.

Starting from second, the #1 W Racing Team Audi R18 of Laurens Vanthoor and César Ramos won the race and put belgian flag on the top spot of the podium for the first time in the season. Benefited by #28 Grässer Racing Team Lamborghini's problem in their pit-stop, Laurens Vanthoor opened a 20 seconds gap to them, left the car to Ramos, and the skilled brazilian only had to bring the car to checkered flag. In second came the #2 W Racing Team R8, with René Rast and Enzo Ide, that achieved the position in a controversal maneuver into the #28 Grässer Lambo. Last podium spot gone to #6 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 of Markus Winkelhock and Niki Mayr-Melnhof.

UPDATE:
The #2 Audi of René Rast and Enzo Ide was disqualified due to technical irregularities, so the #6 Phoenix Audi became second, and the #0 BMW Sports Trophy Team Brasil, of Cacá Bueno and Sérgio Jimenez became third.
