C'est fini

And now it's official.

The well known Pescarolo Team, that was surviving by nothing more than a miracle, was dissolved on Feruary 7th by the Le Mans Court of Commerce.

This puts an end to more than a decade of history, titles and recently, struggles.

What would be thinking the old Henri now?
The team, founded and led by Henri Pescarolo, who won 4 times in Le Mans and holds the most participations' record as a driver, with 33 starts. His achievements as the owner of Pescarolo are essentially in Europe, in ELMS, where the team lift two titles and always shown speed and consistency.

In Le Mans, Pescarolo Team's homeleand, the highest achievement was in 2006 LM24, where the #17 Pescarolo C60 Hybride(his heavily modified version of the Courage C60), driven by the rally myth Sebastien Loeb, alongside with Eric Hélary and Franck Montagny, finished 2nd overall, only behind of #8 Joest Audi R8.

After more than a decade of good results, Pescarolo Sport, as it was known, was suffering financial difficulties and entered in receivership in 2010. In 2011, in a miracle of destiny, with help of some good friends, the team reborn as Pescarolo Team, raced in LMS, winning race races in the process. In 2012, Pescarolo got into the FIA World Endurance Championship and Le Mans, bringing the "new" Pescarolo 03(a modified version of the Aston Martin AMR-One) and a reworked Dome S102. In shadowy performances, the Pescarolo colors were seen in the first rounds of FIA WEC, quitting after Le Mans. After that, financial problems again took away Pescarolo off the track, until the situation we reached now.

OWNER NOTE:

It's really sad that one of the most famous teams of last decade fade due to lack of funds.

I personally was brought to endurance world when I saw the Pescarolo C60s on Gran Turismo 4, when the team was backed by Playstation, and after that, I became a Pescarolo supporter and I think so many others of my generation that like endurance racing started like this.

This is one of the saddest racing news in 2014, but still, the team of the guy with green helmet will be remembered for all endurance fans worlwide.
